Thanks. Yes, I was surprised at what AI came up with. I thought of incorporating the poem into the book but I couldn't figure out where. I thought of putting it in a prologue or perhaps the blurb on the back but it sort of summarizes the plot a little too much.
Concepts 1 and 3 are the best to me. Consider looking at other MG book covers before making your final decision. You want your cover to attract attention, but not to stand out like a sore thumb compared to the rest in the genre. There’s nothing “wrong” with your concepts, but they the may need some tweaking. Also, it’s important to remember that you’re selling to two groups of people, your readers and their moms, who actually do the buying. Goof luck. It looks like a great story!
Thanks for the comments. I looked at some other concepts and many are cartoon/graphic images or very specific like a dragon. Although there "may" be a dragon in the story, it is not the focus of the whole story. Do you have any suggestions for tweaking?
