It's a great review, but I laughed out loud. I have taken similar trains when I was much younger and I'm glad for the experience - but would NEVER do that again. Especially in Egypt now. The tourist police presence is everywhere. If you ever go back, try to take a cruise on the Nile from Cairo to Luxor. It is a beautiful experience, and some lovely vessels that are not uber expensive. Still, certain experiences are musts.

Love night trains. There's something dreamy and romantic about them. The two that come to mind for me are from Hanoi to Sapa, which takes you into northern Vietnam on the Chinese border, where the mountain Hmong live. And a night train that dropped us in Paris, but I don't recall where it started. Both were great. The only glitch is when it arrives early morning at the destination, you best be prepared to depart, b/c not a lot of time in between. Thanks for your post.

I took the local train between Luxor and Aswan and people were STARING. I was so embarrassed. I agree with your assessment of the worst must-do. Thanks for the fun read!

Brilliant experience! I couldn’t stop laughing. I cannot believe how much the train moved that you bruised and bras were undone! 🤣😂😎 never again you say but you must be glad you have done this. Thank you for sharing your train journey after reading my train poem. Much appreciated.

I'm so glad you liked it.

I find sometimes, you need to share unpleasant experiences or at least advise people about them.

Just don't get me started about the toilet situation in Egypt. My husband thinks I had the "bathroom" tour rather than the trip of a lifetime!

Yes, I did the cruise. I loved it! We actually has a round trip cruise, usually they are one way. We ended up with a "sea" day. It was so relaxing. I have a post written specifically about the Nile cruise.

I like trains too. But this one was in a league of its own!
