It definitely is a challenging decision.

Certainly plenty of conversation.

If you are also planning to move, perhaps a co-living arrangement? Maybe a duplex.

If they are still healthyish and independent, now would be the time for a move.

Later will definitely be harder and more complicated.

Encourage the benefits of having everyone nearby.

Thank you for this story! I am just starting to figure out how to care for my parents. They are still independent, but I can see the writing on the wall. My husband and I are first time grandparents-to-be, and would like to move states to be near our grandchild within the next year. I was hoping my parents would move as well so I could help care for them as they need more of it. Mom is on board. Dad is not. I don't think I can move without them, so we've got to figure something out. Sigh.
