Great piece. In my years as a travel advisor, I have learned there are as many different kinds of travelers as there are people. There are the truly interested and curious travelers who want to connect with the world. There are the ones ticking off lists to compare with their peers. Others who are on a path to self-discovery. Others who need everything to be familiar and are unwilling (unable?) to get beyond their comfort zone. There are people who tackle highly technical trips (mountain climbing).
