Great piece. In my years as a travel advisor, I have learned there are as many different kinds of travelers as there are people. There are the truly interested and curious travelers who want to connect with the world. There are the ones ticking off lists to compare with their peers. Others who are on a path to self-discovery. Others who need everything to be familiar and are unwilling (unable?) to get beyond their comfort zone. There are people who tackle highly technical trips (mountain climbing). Others still who travel to family and friends. It isn't my job to judge, it's my job to encourage, to suggest, and to arrange. If I can plant one seed of something new in a client, I've been successful. Anything to lift someone out of that pull of the gravity of sameness brings me joy.
So true. Travel is a good way to cleanse the soul. Have you seen @Yasmin Chopin's Place Writing? She has a great essay on travel writing you might like. As a travel writer myself, I found it really interesting.
Travel is the answer to all of life's questions! Great writing!

Thank you so much, Peggy.
What do you think of the new platform and layout?
Sometimes its all about providing an alternative that sparks something new.
